To coincide with the Hakodate Port Festival, a representative summer event in Hakodate, HOTEL RESOL HAKODATE will be holding a special event for hotel guests, "Enjoy the Port Festival Stay," on August 1st (Sat) and 2nd (Sun), 2026.

We will be offering a variety of events to help you fully enjoy the Hakodate Port Festival, including a breakfast buffet featuring squid dishes (which are also mentioned in the lyrics of the "Hakodate Squid Dance"), a hotel restaurant on the top floor that will be opened as a fireworks viewing spot, special stalls set up in a festival style, the opportunity to participate in the "Hakodate Squid Dance" with hotel staff, and the distribution of original fans with dance instructions.

What kind of event is the "Hakodate Port Festival"?

The Hakodate Port Festival is a major event that represents summer in Hakodate and began in 1935 (Showa 10).
In particular, the "Hakodate Squid Dance," performed at the citizen-participation parade "Wasshoi Hakodate," is a unique dance themed around Hakodate's famous squid, and the dancers parade through the streets to the lively chant of "squid sashimi, salted squid, squid somen."

It is a beloved symbol of Hakodate, enjoyed by people of all generations.

HOTEL RESOL HAKODATE has planned a "Port Festival Enjoyment Stay" to further enliven the "Hakodate Port Festival" and to allow first-time visitors to Hakodate and international guests to enjoy the festival more easily.
