Yes. Koishikawa Korakuen Garden is located about a one-minute walk from our facility.
Koishikawa Korakuen Garden was created in the early Edo period, in 1629, by Yorifusa, the founder of the Mito Tokugawa family, as the garden for his Edo residence (later to become the main residence). The garden was completed during the time of the second lord, Mitsukuni. When creating the garden, Mitsukuni incorporated the advice of Zhu Shunshui, a Confucian scholar from the Ming dynasty, and named it "Korakuen" (meaning "later garden") after the Chinese teaching that "(a scholar) should worry before the worries of the world and rejoice after the joys of the world."
Furthermore, among Tokyo Metropolitan Gardens, only Hamarikyu Gardens and Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens have been designated as both a Special Historic Site and a Special Place of Scenic Beauty.
Please feel free to stop by.
