NEIGHBORS

It's a 10-minute walk from HOTEL RESOL TRINITY SAPPORO towards JR Sapporo Station. As you pass through Odori Park in the center of Sapporo and pass the Sapporo Clock Tower, you'll notice a sign with a cool blue background and snowflakes.
Some people are drawn to the colorful parfaits and cakes displayed in the shop window, stopping to take a closer look. "Snow Brand Parlour" has been loved by Hokkaido residents and citizens for about 70 years as a "long-established sweets shop that walks alongside the community" that delivers the deliciousness of Hokkaido ingredients.

The store was founded on Sapporo Station Street and moved to its current location in 2017.
The Sapporo Main Store is visited by many people, from tourists, local students, old friends and elderly people, looking for over 30 types of parfaits, snacks and souvenirs, including the long-selling product Snow Royal, as well as classic and seasonal items.

The former main store (first floor shop) around 1964 (Showa 39)
The history of "Snow Brand Parlour" dates back to 1956 (Showa 31), when "Snow Brand Transportation Co., Ltd." opened a restaurant division. Then, in 1961 (Showa 36), it became independent as "Snow Brand Parlour Co., Ltd." (now part of the Megmilk Snow Brand Group).
"From around the 1970s, coffee shops began to boom all over the country, but when our shop was founded, cheese and butter were not widely available, and it was rare for coffee shops, restaurants, and other eateries to serve dairy products, so we were a pioneer in this area."

Ishibashi works hard every day to attract a wide range of customers.
These are the words of Yusuke Ishibashi, who has gained experience over many years at Snow Brand Megmilk Co., Ltd., a group company, and is currently responsible for all aspects of Snow Brand Parlor operations.
As a long-established company that will soon celebrate its 70th anniversary, there are three things that we value: being particular about food, promoting Hokkaido, and raising awareness of dairy products.
"We will always deliver to our customers the products that dairy farmers have painstakingly produced. That is our mission," he said, revealing that this philosophy is deeply ingrained not only at Snow Brand Parlor, but throughout the entire group.

Speaking of the long-established Hokkaido sweets shop "Snow Brand Parlour," the shop's signature product is "Snow Royal." Many people have probably heard of this vanilla ice cream, known for its white color reminiscent of snowy regions and its soft, fluffy texture.
In fact, this ice cream was specially developed to be presented to Emperor Showa and Empress Michiko at the Hokkaido Centennial Ceremony held in Sapporo in 1968 (Showa 43).
One of the predecessors of our group company, Snow Brand Megmilk Co., Ltd., was called Snow Brand Milk Products Co., Ltd. at the time, and received a request from the Imperial Household Agency to create the "best ice cream," which it completed after two long years of trial and error.

"Snow Royal Cold Brew Coffee Set." The coffee is made with natural water from Mount Daisetsu in Hokkaido.
The ice cream was made with the aim of "conveying the appeal of Hokkaido dairy farming to members of the Imperial family," and by not using eggs, it retains the natural flavor of the milk.It is rich with 15.6% milk fat, but has a mild aftertaste.
"A high milk fat content results in a smooth, rich taste, but it is less likely to solidify. On the other hand, non-fat milk solids, which are the 'nutritious components of milk,' are the key to richness, but if there is too much, it will have a grainy texture, so it seems they struggled to find a balance between the two."
This exquisitely balanced "Snow Royal" is currently only sold at a few "Snow Brand Parlour" stores in Hokkaido in order to maintain its traditional taste and quality.

"Snow Royal Red Melon Parfait"
The Snow Royal is full of milk and melts gently on the tongue. This parfait is a menu item that allows you to savor this traditional deliciousness in an even more luxurious way.
Among them, the "Snow Royal Red-fleshed Melon Parfait" uses melons reminiscent of Hokkaido, and is garnished with melon gelato, smooth cream made with 100% Hokkaido raw milk, and fresh red-fleshed melon, making it especially popular with tourists.
Each ingredient is topped and presented to perfection, bringing out the perfect balance of the juiciness and sweetness of each ingredient and the flavor of the ice cream, making this a truly exceptional treat.

The takeaway "Snow Royal" is the perfect souvenir.
"Because Snow Brand originated in Hokkaido, I feel every day that it is loved by the local people. I think that's why we've been able to continue this far, and I would be happy if visitors could feel that 'Hokkaido is indeed a land of dairy farming' by eating our dairy products."
Yukijirushi Parlour not only uses local Hokkaido fruits whenever possible, but has also recently been working on initiatives rooted in the local community, such as developing parfaits with Milkra, a milk club at the local Tenshi University, to help solve social issues.
It is precisely because it is a brand beloved by the local community that it will give back to the community. The circle of people conveying the appeal of Hokkaido dairy farming will continue to expand steadily, starting with Snow Royal.
