[Limited to guests staying at the hotel] In-house event to enjoy the atmosphere of the ancient capital

HOTEL RESOL KYOTO SHIJO MUROMACHI holds special events for our hotel guests on a monthly and weekly basis.

Year-round events (Mondays and Fridays) *Please note that the days of the week changed from April 2026.
"Kyoto Dance and Photo Session with a Maiko (Geisha Apprentice)"
Kyoto currently has five geisha districts known as the Gokagai (five geisha districts). One of them, Miyagawacho, located in Higashiyama Ward, is a historic geisha district that has developed as a teahouse district with deep ties to performing arts such as Kabuki. For this event, we will invite a maiko (apprentice geisha) from Minatoya, said to be the oldest teahouse in Miyagawacho, to perform a dance. After the performance, there will be a photo session where you can take pictures with her.

Many teahouses in Kyoto's geisha districts do not accept first-time customers, so this is a rare opportunity to interact with a maiko (apprentice geisha). Enjoy a charming moment in the ancient capital during autumn.

Limited-time event in April and May (Tuesdays)
"Daruma Doll Painting Experience"
Daruma dolls are traditional Japanese lucky charms. Let's create your own unique daruma doll by freely coloring a plain white one. You can take your one-of-a-kind mini-daruma doll home as a souvenir.

June-only event (Tuesdays)
"Paint Your Own Wind Chime Experience"
Create a one-of-a-kind piece by freely drawing on wind chimes that adorn the Japanese summer, and make it a memorable souvenir of your trip. Enjoy art that connects you with Japanese tradition and tranquil solace.

Limited-time event in April, May, and June (Wednesdays)
"Making Incense Sachets that Envelop the Scents of Kyoto"
This is an experience where you can create your own unique "scented sachet" by blending organic incense made from natural ingredients.
Choose your favorite from a selection of gentle, Kyoto-esque fragrances, and we'll finish it off by packing it into a small cloth bag.
You can take home the finished scented sachet.

Limited-time event in April, May, and June (Thursdays) *Excluding June 4th and June 11th
"A Gentle Zen Meditation Experience in a Chair / Zen Meditation & Talk with a Monk"
We will be welcoming a monk from a temple to provide a Zen meditation experience and a talk session. Zen meditation is a Japanese form of meditation that involves connecting your breath and calming your mind, and it will last about 15 minutes. Participation in the talk only is also possible.

Limited-time event on June 4th and June 11th.

A calligraphy experience to calm your mind. Using brush and ink, you can easily experience traditional Japanese calligraphy.
