"Kyoto Maiko Dance & Photo Session"
Kyoto currently has five geisha districts known as the Gokagai. One of these, Miyagawacho, is located in Higashiyama Ward and is a historic geisha district that has developed as a teahouse district with deep ties to performing arts such as Kabuki. For this event, we will invite a maiko from Minatoya, said to be the oldest teahouse in Miyagawacho, to perform a dance. After the performance, there will also be a photo session where you can take photos with the maiko.

Many teahouses in Kyoto's geisha district do not accept first-time visitors, so you can enjoy a rare opportunity to interact with maiko. Enjoy a tasteful moment unique to Kyoto in the ancient capital in autumn.

March-only event (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuesdays)
"Easy chair meditation and talk / Zen Meditation & Talk with a monk"
We will invite a monk from the temple to experience zazen and talk with him.
This is a 15-minute Japanese meditation to quiet the mind. You can also join just for the talk.

(4th and 5th Tuesdays)
"Japanese Calligraphy on a Traditional Fan"

Together with a calligraphy teacher, you can write your favorite kanji or Japanese phrases on a traditional fan.
You can enjoy adding the finishing touches to your stamps and take home the finished fan.

March-only event (Wednesday)
"Making Incense Sachets that Capture the Scent of Kyoto / Jaoanese Incense Sachet Making"
This is an experience where you can blend organic incense using natural ingredients and make your own "sachet."
Choose your favorite from a selection of gentle Kyoto-style scents, and have it packed into a small cloth bag.
You can take home your finished sachet.
