![[Limited to guests staying at the hotel] In-house event to enjoy the atmosphere of the ancient capital](/uploads/discovery/2026/p3_260801143143.jpg)
HOTEL RESOL KYOTO SHIJO MUROMACHI holds special events for our hotel guests on a monthly and weekly basis.
Year-round events (Mondays and Thursdays) *Days of the week have been changed since August.
"Kyoto Dance and Photo Session with a Maiko (Geisha Apprentice)"
Kyoto currently has five geisha districts known as the Gokagai (five geisha districts). One of them, Miyagawacho, located in Higashiyama Ward, is a historic geisha district that has developed as a teahouse district with deep ties to performing arts such as Kabuki. For this event, we will invite a maiko (apprentice geisha) from Minatoya, said to be the oldest teahouse in Miyagawacho, to perform a dance. After the performance, there will be a photo session where you can take pictures with her.
Many teahouses in Kyoto's geisha districts do not accept first-time customers, so this is a rare opportunity to interact with geisha. Enjoy a charming moment in the ancient capital of Kyoto this spring.
