"Little Fun DIY Studio" started from what I love
Tufting work created by Becky
After graduating from university, the owner, Becky, was struggling to decide whether to start her own shop or get a job. At the time, Becky loved tufting, which was popular in Korea, and made pieces using that technique. Her desire to do what she loved for a living won out, and she decided to start up "Little Fun DIY Studio."
Tufting is a method of making carpets and rugs by inserting fibers into fabric with power tools. It is a technique with a history of about 100 years, but with the current boom in handmade crafts, it is attracting attention again as a way to easily create highly finished original fabric art with original designs.
A variety of colorful materials used for tufting
Becky wanted to share the joy of tufting, but there are few tufting specialty shops in Nagoya, and they are expensive. She started up a studio with the idea that it would be nice to have a place like this in her hometown. When it first opened, it started as a tufting studio only, but later incorporated Poring Bear Art, which is popular in China, into the vacant space on the second floor of a store. It became a hot topic on social media, and now it is a popular workshop that attracts customers of all ages from all over Japan.
The main body of Poring Bear Art is a plastic figurein the shape of a bear.
The Fun of Bear Polling Art
A mixture of special materials and acrylic paint
Becky says that the appeal of Poring Bear Art is that even if you use the same materials, you can create completely different works. Poring Art is a technique in which a mixture of special materials and acrylic paint is dripped onto a canvas to create a work of art.
The unpredictable movement of the liquid mixes with the marbled patterns, creating beautiful designs. Furthermore, the canvas for Poring Bear Art is a plastic figure in the shape of a bear. It is made by dripping acrylic paint onto an adorable bear, so even those with no artistic talent can easily try their hand at making cute artworks, which is one of the attractions. Neither Becky nor the customers can control the outcome of the work, so there is no telling what the final product will look like. The greatest fun of Poring Bear Art is the sense of excitement you feel while waiting for the piece to be completed.
The adorable bear has a beautiful marbled pattern created by dripping acrylic paint on it.
It is also popular to add illustrations of flowers and stars to the finished bear with polling art, making it a unique piece. Polling bear art allows you to infuse your own original ideas into your work, and I felt the richness of its possibilities are endless.

Enriching every day with new encounters through art
Becky says that at first she was unsure how to advertise her business. "I was approached by various companies and restaurants, and I set up shop at events, which led to me meeting all kinds of customers, and I feel like the circle of art is expanding," she says with a smile. Now, influencers and celebrities visit her shop, and she enjoys the encounters and interactions she has had since starting it.
Becky also places great importance on interacting with the children who visit her shop. "It's more fun than anything to be exposed to the children's spirit of adventure and creativity," she said. Becky said with a big smile that it's refreshing and delightful to be called "teacher" by the children. "Little Fun DIY Studio" is a beloved place where the whole family can have fun, and parents and children are welcome to join in the experience. From the excitement of waiting for the unexpected end result to the adorable marbled bear, this is Little Fun DIY Studio, a place that will bring out the artistic side of you.
